An Inspiring Color Palette

Color and the accents that you choose truly make a wedding unique. One of the first things that brides choose is the color scheme of their event. From bold, vibrant hues to soft, muted tones, color helps create the ambiance that you desire.

In the early stages of planning as you are deciding on colors, the creation of an inspiration board helps you to visualize your primary and accent colors and how they will work together and enhance one another. I recently put together an inspiration board for a client's September 2010 wedding. She's going for a sense of drama and wants to fill the room with blue uplighting while adding dramatic red accents and black magic roses. When we put together the inspiration board and saw how the colors created the dramatic look that she desired, she knew that she had found her winning color combination.

Are you trying to decide on your wedding colors? The Dessy Group (known for their great selection of bridesmaid dresses), now has a unique tool that allows all brides to play with color and create their own wedding inspiration boards. Visit Dessy's "Styleboard" and you can create your own boards that will inspire a variety of color combinations as you beginning planning the decor and accents that will enhance your wedding vision. I'm excited to see all the new color combinations that will be popular for 2010. Leave a comment and let me know what unique color scheme that you've chosen!

An Old Hollywood Love Affair

Holly is such a fun-loving bride! I recently met with Holly and her mother to discuss wedding details as she prepares for her April wedding at the Orlando Museum of Art. As we were talking, she started showing her engagement photos and I was blown away. They are just stunning! Her wonderful photographer, Leigh Taylor (check out more of her work at www.leigh-taylor.com), used an Old Hollywood vibe to perfectly capture Holly and David's love. I just couldn't resist sharing them with you. I'm excited to be working with such a fun couple and I'm eagerly anticipating their wedding...I know that the event (and photographs) will be just as breathtaking!

Gretchen and Beau truly have a special kind of love. After helping Gretchen choose her amazing Jasmine Couture gown at Solutions Bridal, I had the pleasure of helping her coordinate her Destin beachside wedding. Gretchen and Beau had a gorgeous day! Ryan and Erica from Pure 7 Studios photography did an amazing job of capturing every moment. Their album is finally up and it looks fabulous! Take a look. :)

An Evening of Glitz and Glamour

I was honored to be a part of "An Evening of Glitz and Glamour" hosted by Solutions Bridal Winter Park and Heather Snively from Weddings Unique. It was a fabulous affair that brought out Orlando and Winter Park's top wedding vendors. With an "Old Hollywood" theme, everyone was dressed in their finest. It was truly a fantastic event...after all, wedding vendors do know how to throw a party! :)

Indian Weddings 101

Everyone knows that I love weddings! I truly think that it's watching all the planning and details come together to create a unique event that makes them so exciting. Every wedding is different. With the infusion of culture, traditions, and personal style, every couple creates a day that truly represents themselves.

Culture plays a prominent role in many weddings. I recently had three brides inquire about my services for their large-scale Indian Weddings. I had to be honest and admit that this was not my area of expertise, but that I was more than happy to take on the challenge. :) However, with these recent inquires, I decided it was time to gain more knowledge in this area...and I definitely did!

As a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants, I was invited to attend an eye-opening seminar, "Indian Weddings 101." We have all seen the rich, warm colors and decor that create a dramatic backdrop to traditional Indian Weddings, however, there is so much more that goes into putting together such a magnificient event. With events such as the Pithi, Mehndi, and Garba all leading up to the actual wedding day and ceremony, marriage is truly a celebration. I am excited with all that I have learned about the Hindu, Muslim, and Sikh weddings. I am now filled with a wealth of knowledge and am eager to help create a luxurious wedding masterpiece that is rich with tradition and culture.

Here are a few photos from the event:

A True Pavé-Colored Wedding

I recently met with a bride who desired a turquoise and black color scheme for her wedding. Since it is apparent that I love these colors (hence Pavé's logo colors), imagine my excitement! This color combo isn't quite as traditional as others, but it will make a stunning impact and add a unique flair to the reception decor. These colors can be a little dark together sometimes, so we even played with the idea of adding a hint of color to the flowers to brighten up the area and really make the colors stand out. Take a look at this inspiration board and let me know your thoughts!

A Modern Touch

Do you desire a chic look for your wedding? Well then you'll love one of the current wedding trends...wedding lounge furniture!!!! I am in love with the amazing look that they add to a wedding! Guests appear in awe as they step away from the usual reception tables and dance floor and find themselves in a separate, chic oasis. Whether you want a fun nightclub feel, an intimate space for your guests to relax, or just another exciting décor element added to your wedding, wedding lounge furniture is a beautiful and modern way to enhance your reception. As long as you have an imagination, the possibilities are endless. Here's some exciting lounge area ideas courtesy of the TheKnot.com.

Recently, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Stacey Feldman from AFR Event Furnishings here in Orlando. She allowed me to see all of the amazing pieces that they offer. From sleek and modern furniture perfect for an urban chic event to plush couches that add just a touch of sophistication, they have it all. I love them over there at AFR! Here's a photo sample of some of my favorite pieces. :)

Get Ready, Set,....DASH!

The "Running of the Brides" at Filene's Basement has been popular among many adventurous brides that want discounts on designer gowns. Well now, Solutions Bridal is bringing their own exciting version to Gainesville. On Saturday, June 27th, from 8am to 12pm, Solutions Bridal in Gainesville will open their doors to brides craving designer gowns without the designer pricetag. Dresses will range from $99-$699....but not only are you getting a discount, you're supporting charity! What could be better than buying your dream gown while helping others at the same time? A portion of the proceeds will be generously donataed as they benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. This is going to be an absolutely amazing event!!!! I'm sure the line will be long, so plan on getting there early. Good luck as you get ready to "Dash for Your Dress!"

A Treasure in Winter Park

One of the first planning aspects of any wedding is finding the perfect venue for your ceremony. Many brides choose the church that they have grown up in, outdoor garden nuptials, beachside ceremonies, or vows amidst the backdrop of a lavish hotel. However, nestled in the heart of Winter Park is a very quaint and romantic Chapel that is perfect for the couple that desires an intimate and romantic ceremony with an "Old Florida" ambiance.

This past week, I had the pleasure of meeting Suzanne Graffham of the Winter Park Wedding Chapel, as she took me on a tour of this gorgeous location. Although this venue is not for every bride, it truly does provide the intimacy and romantic setting that so many couples desire. With its ideal location just steps away from the Winter Park Rose Garden, Central Park, and Farmer's Market, your photo opportunities are endless. If you're looking for a unique venue to celebrate your love, take a look at the Winter Park Wedding Chapel, a historic treasure in the heart of Winter Park!

Here Come the Brides!

"A Perfect Wedding Guide" did it again! They hosted a fabulous Bridal Expo this past weekend at the beautiful Lake Buena Vista Palace. Pavé Weddings was honored to join them on this exciting day. With over 600 brides in attendance, you could feel the excitement in the air. From delicious cake samples to gorgeous floral arrangements and a spectacular fashion show, everyone seemed to have a great time.

I had the special privilege of meeting with many wonderful brides and grooms. I am excited about the prospect of working with such enthusiastic couples. Many couples were seriously thinking about hiring a wedding planner, while others were still on the fence about whether or not they needed a wedding planner. My #1 piece of advice was, if nothing else, truly think about hiring a Day-Of Wedding Coordinator. If you're the bride that loves being in charge of every detail and has your mom or a friend to help along the way, then enjoy the planning fun. However, when it comes to putting all the details together on your wedding day, let everyone enjoy the day and revel in the experience, while a Day-Of Coordinator handles the rest. Pavé would be honored to take the reigns as you walk the down the aisle and party throughout the night. :)

I want to give a special thank you to Brenda with
Bella Blooms Floral for creating the gorgeous centerpiece that received so much attention. She truly brought my vision to life. I would also like to thank Tali with Solutions Bridal. Tali is the manager for the bridal salon and I have had the great pleasure of working with her for a little over two years. She is amazing!!! Please visit her and the other fabulous girls at the Winter Park and Gainesville salons. You will truly have the "unparalled bridal experience" as the personal bridal consultants help you find your dream gown!

Best wishes to all the brides on their upcoming weddings! Let the planning begin....

A "Magical" Wedding

I am a HUGE Orlando Magic fan! So you can imagine my excitement when our home team became the NBA Eastern Conference Champions. Wow! Our entire city has joined together to help cheer our team on to their first NBA Championship. With Magic spirit evident all around Orlando, I decided to bring it to the blog!

Blue has always been a color of choice for weddings. From soft blue hues to vibrant shades of turqouise, this color can be paired with endless others to create a dramatic wedding palette. So in honor of our "Blue & White Ignite" theme, I've gathered a collection of blue wedding details that will add just a hint of "Magic" to your special day. (Photos courtesy of Theknot.com)
